When did I start my fitness journey?  My fitness journey started at a young age.  My mother loved fitness and was always very health conscious.  I would tag along with her to her Jazzercise classes where I would sit and watch and sometimes even participate in the classes, always inspired by how much fun all of the women in class were having.  That modeling led me to begin working out at the gym when I entered college and I haven’t stopped since!    I love the feeling I get from working out and also like to motivate others around me to do their personal best.

Why did I choose a career in personal training? After working as an accountant in the corporate world, owning a skin care business, and being a full time mom, I decided I was ready to get back in the work force doing something I was passionate about that would help others.  I have always loved fitness and consider it my passion.  I thought if I can help change people’s lives by living out my passion then why not start now!   I’ve been very fortunate to have the support of so many family members and friends who believe in me.  

What is my biggest accomplishment? To this day one of my biggest accomplishments is enduring true “labor” naturally two times.   Having home births was such an amazing experience and really the hardest thing, physically, I’ve ever done.  To know what the body is capable of is very empowering and constantly reminds me that physical challenges are more mental than anything else.  This empowerment allows me to push hard through workouts and encourage others to do so as well. 

What are my hobbies? I love to read, travel, spend time with family and friends and workout of course!  I think it’s important to have balance in your life and taking time out of your busy schedule to enjoy the things you love keeps you feeling refreshed and alive!   

What motivates me? My number one motivator is my family.  I look at my children daily and know it’s important for me to stay strong and healthy so that I can keep up with their activities and enjoy life with them.  Having two extremely active boys is always an adventure and I want to be able to model a healthy lifestyle so that they can stay active throughout their lives.  Music also motivates me.  When I hear good music I feel so inspired to move my body.  There’s nothing like putting on some good tunes and having a kick ass workout! 

What’s my favorite workout?  It’s hard to choose just one workout since I like so many different techniques and I enjoy being challenged.  I truly love a good sports drills class where I can flip tires, run sprints, and perform numerous challenging resistance training exercises.  I also love hot yoga for the mind, body, soul connection you get while also detoxing the body.
